Hotel El Rinconcito

Love this remote little hotel. Its a small family run hotel with nice rooms, beautiful beaches and great food. The beaches are white and sandy and go on for miles. It was a little rough for swimming, but great for walking or hanging out and watching the sunset. Prices are very inexpensive. Internet/ phone is spotty, so it might take you a few times to get through. The road there is much improved and can be driven by regular car. (at least when we went in dry season)

Totally enjoyed our stay. Super friendly staff, very clean, beautiful location. Great food and drinks. Peaceful and relaxing. Amazing beach!

Fernando, Maria, Hanna, Joe, Brenda and the whole family are absolutely wonderful hosts! Hotel El Rinconcito is indeed a cute little corner of the beach. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The food is just simply yummy (diabla shrimp... yes!!!). And the service is outstanding. If you are looking to relax in a quiet seaside spot, look no further.

My fiancé and I just spent a week in Mayto in April. We live over in Australia so it's a but of a trek to get there but well worth it. We had a great time trying Joe's different concoctions behind the bar, my favourite was the Mango Margarita and Mojito. He's very hospitable, friendly and on point when he sees you need another! Francisco and Mari were absolutely awesome as well, they run the hotel side of things and we can see where Joe gets his hospitable nature from as Mari and Francisco go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The hotel has just started doing tours-hike and snorkel trips and I did both with Zeth Bernal as my guide. She's extremely knowledgeable about the local flora and fauna and I learned some things about cactus on the hike that I never even knew! Zeth showed me a really cool bat cave (was super interesting comparing the sizes to bats in Australia as Mexican bats are tiny compared to the ones over here! ) and during the hike explained about the local culture, customs and if course, turtles as the grounds of all of these places are right alongside a turtle rehab and sanctuary. I'd love to say more about the snorkelling, was a cool spot in neighbouring town Tehuamixtle, but there was no visibility the day we picked to go, no one's fault happens in nature! We still had a great swim and I did catch a small glimpse of the shipwreck. Would be a very awesome tour on a clear day. All in all Zeth did a fantastic job! I've lived and travelled around the world and her tour rates up there with the best of em. Thank you to everyone who made our trip across the world SO very special. Jen & Kimura

Comfortable and clean rooms with very cold AC. The food (every meal) is phenomenal. The proprietors, Fernando and Mary, are very friendly and accommodating! It's super rustic here, but lacking in nothing. It's a very special place! Warning - lots of dogs off leash, so if you bring your pet, know there's a chance of dog fighting.

Fernando and Mari are the best hosts ever, as well as all of the staff at el rinconcito. The food is delicious, the beach is stunning, and we felt so relaxed here. Would recommend to anyone, our stay was incredible.

The rooms in the new tower two have a good beach view. The meals were good, but of course, primarily sea , which I do not eat. The smaller beach is spectacular and protected enough to make swimming possible. The long open Mayto beach is great for walking or jogging. There are daily turtle releases. I recommend this as a "get away from the rat race for a few days" holiday.
